Entry Cabinet Stool

Woodworking

These little entry way stool cabinets took me a good three months to make! Granted, I got distracted on other things, but I am finally glad to have them done. Especially since they are completing a set for my entry way.

First, as usual, I made a full build video on YouTube: Cherry Cabinet Stool with Textured Drawers, embedded below:

The design was done in Autodesk Fusion, and the CAD/CAM/Toolpaths are a free download on my shop page: Digital Files for Curvy Cabinets

It is mainly made from solid cherry with hard maple for the drawers. I used a piece of veneered cherry MDF for the back to handle wood movement, and the drawer bottoms are maple veneered plywood. The full extension drawers run on concealed under mount Blum hardware.

The first photos are from in my shop, which have a slight green hue due to the shop lighting. In the photos below they are put into the entry way of my home, which show a much more reddish hue. The new stool is still really light in color; cherry tends to darken with age over time, and will eventually match the older cabinets.
