Photography

Taking pictures is a lot of fun. I’ve been into photography for quite a few years now.  I started with a Canon Digital Rebel, but in 2012 I got the Canon 5D Mark III, and love the camera! The main lenses I use are the Canon 24-70 f2.8 and Canon 70-200mm f2.8. For macro, I have an older Canon 100mm macro lens.

Some of my pictures are High Dynamic Range (HDR) photographs, meaning I take at least three exposures and combine them into one image.

Below are the latest posts from my photography category.

Photography: New Mexico Horizons

New Mexico Horizons! We visited Taos, New Mexico for a ski/snowboard trip, but there wasn't much snow. We did an awesome hike around the nearby areas and I took some photos. I’m still working on composition and trying to get lines to be a little more pleasing.

Photography: The Ghost Ranch Ram

I took this when visiting New Mexico's Ghost Ranch.

Photography: Ghost Ranch White Sheep

Ghost Ranch White Sheep   I’m not super thrilled with the subject’s in this photo; the black and white baby sheep looks out of place and a bit awkward, and I captured a bit of a brown sheep in the far left side. I didn’t want to completely crop out that one as it would have made the composition worse, causing some clipping of the tree. If I only had a sheep dog to direct them to do what I wanted to do! Photography: The Ghost Ranch Green Tree

The Ghost Ranch Green Tree. Well, I'm not really sure of that trees name, but it was pretty green compared to a lot of everything else around. The Ghost Ranch is in New Mexico, and inspired the artist Georgia O'Keeffe.

Photography: Ghost Ranch Shining Rock, New Mexico

I visited Taos, New Mexico to do some snowboarding, but there wasn’t much snow. So, one day we drove out to the Ghost Ranch, a few hours away, and I snapped a few pictures. This area inspired Georgia O’Keeffe, and it is easy to see why! Click through to see the photo larger...

Photography: Truckee Airport

Camera: http://amzn.to/2pc3vWS I was on my way to go snowboarding in Kirkwood and stopped by the airport to grab this shot.

Photography: Truckee, Lake Tahoe, California – Russell Valley Sunset

Photography: Blue Hawaii Sunsets

Blue Hawaii Sunsets - taken in Lahaina when I was doing an extended stay in Maui.

Photography: Dying VW Bug

Down by the river off of East Zayante Road in the Santa Cruz mountains is an old VW bug that is slowly rotting away.

Photography: Eisley the Trail Dog

Everyone thinks that their dog is the cutest and best animal ever.
