I wanted to go for concrete as I\u2019m fascinated by it, and got two concrete counter top books by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.concreteexchange.com\/\">Cheng<\/a>\u00a0and some premixed stuff from his website (more on this later)<\/p>\n<p>Based on the books, I built a template &#8211; but I used cardboard since I had it laying around:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_5349.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.corbinstreehouse.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_5349.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 5349\" width=\"612\" height=\"816\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I built a mold based off information from the books. Sprayed some sticky stuff on it, and tossed down a bunch of aggregate that I also got from Cheng\u2019s site.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_5363.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.corbinstreehouse.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_5363.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 5363\" width=\"612\" height=\"816\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Notice the custom side inlay on the far side; a bike sprocket piece!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_5374.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.corbinstreehouse.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_5374.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 5374\" width=\"612\" height=\"816\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I think the pour is a little too wet, but it seems strong enough so far. Now, it looked a lot greener than I was expecting. I\u2019m still happy with the end result.
