July 07, 2002.

Well, I like building stuff, and my treehouse is the perfect example of what i can do. I built it about 3 years ago atop some of my parent's property in Santa Cruz, California. Their "big house" is on the land too, but right now no one lives in it (my parents live in Maui). Speaking of which, I was born in Lahaina, Maui, and we moved here when I was three. A couple of years ago my parents moved back (one at a time) to sort-of relax and sell real estate (they are both real estate agents, with my dad as the broker in Maui and my mom as the broker here in Cali). I take care of stuff around the house, including our two cats and the "family dog", Fido.

Lately, I've really been enjoying rock climbing. I've been going to the Pacific Edge indoor climbing gym for the past several months, and I've climbed outside a few times. I also like to do some weight lifting every now and then.

Well, I'm a programmer, and I like writing programs. I work for Borland Software Corporation as a Research and Development Sofware Engineer. I've got my own office, and it is really cool to work at Borland (located in Scotts Valley, California).

I really like my motorcycles...and yes, that is cycles. I've got a Honda CBR 600 (sport bike) and a Harley Davidson 1200C Sporster (cruiser). I like both styles, but have been riding the Honda most often due to comfort and speed. I also really like cool cars; there is a picture of my current car somewhere on the site. I used to have a Black 67 Ford Mustang (for 7 years), but sold it to get my current car.

I like learning new stuff. I enjoy playing around with my computer, but lately I haven't been spending much time on it at home (I get my "fix" at work). I do like reading, both for fun and learning. Lately I've been reading climbing books, but also some Deutche Sprechen (German language) stuff. Switzerland is really beautiful, and I often ponder about living there at some point (hence, i figure it would be good to speak one of their 3 or 4 primary languages). Germany is nice too (cool castles!) so maybe I could live there too.

Speaking of strange places, I like traveling. Last summer I went to England and Ireland. The summer before I went to a lot of Western Europe: Holland (worked there for a week for Borland), Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. I really liked Switzerland a whole lot; the huge green and snow capped mountains really take your breath away.

Well, I'm also a commercial, multi-engine, instrument pilot (since I was 20). I went to school in Arizona a couple of years studying aviation, but switched to computers and finished up at Cabrillo/UCSC (graduated pretty much at the top of the class, with Highest Honors in the major, and College Honors). I haven't had the extra cash, or time, to start flying again, but hopefully will sometime in the near future. I really love flying airplanes; there is nothing like it. I became a private pilot when I was 17 years old.

Well, hmm..that's it for now. Feel free to email me.
